Over the last two months I have come to learn what a warm and welcoming parish we have here. When people ask me how the transition to St. Joseph is going, I always tell them that the people make the parish and our people are salt of the earth and light to the world people. I am blessed to be in a parish with so many individuals who are generous with their time,

talent, and treasure.

In terms of time, there are so many examples, but I want to focus on the most important. We are incredibly blessed to have perpetual eucharistic adoration, and this would not be possible without so many faithful disciples giving of their time to be with the Lord. We have an active Peace, Justice, and Creation ministry, a robust St. Vincent de Paul Society chapter, and a strategic partnership with the Women’s Sanctuary.

In terms of talent, this parish steps up and takes ownership of its grounds, ministries, and community in remarkable ways. From the Lawn Rangers, to volunteer receptionists, to catechists, to liturgical ministers, to Sunday breakfasts, and to those who clean up not only after their own groups but go above and beyond as an act of service.

In terms of treasure, I am truly blown away and grateful to God. No ministry – absolutely zero ministry – would be possible without the sacrificial giving of so many generous disciples. A couple of weekends ago, we went above and beyond our habitual giving in support of the everyday operations of the parish. When presented with the need of offsetting the cost of a new 20-ton HVAC system for the gymnasium, we completely covered the entire cost of the project in one weekend! 100% paid for in one weekend’s second collection. This is something I will brag about to my brother priests.

Thank you to each and every family who gave for this need.

I am truly grateful.

Thank you to each and every parishioner who gives of his or her time, talent, and treasure. You make the ministry of our parish happen.

I pray for you each day and I am so grateful to be your pastor.
