In the Rule of St. Benedict, chapter 53, he instructs his monks in the proper way to welcome guests, "All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ, for he himself will say: I was a stranger and you welcomed me (Matt 25:35). Proper honor must be shown to all, especially to those who share our faith (Gal 6:10) and to pilgrims."

In a parish, we should do the same.  When we welcome people into our community with love, we show them the face of Jesus.  It is easy to judge and find reasons to say no.  If we see the person as Jesus in others, then we are compelled to say yes.  We are obliged to welcome them.  Each Sunday, when we see a visitor, new face or new family, will you be the one who goes up to them and says, "Welcome to St. Joseph Parish"?  Fr. La hospitalidad es una necesidad parroquial

 En la Regla de San Benito, capítulo 53, instruye a sus monjes sobre la forma adecuada de recibir a los invitados: "Todos los invitados que se presenten deben ser recibidos como a Cristo, porque él mismo dirá: Yo era un extraño y ustedes me recibieron". En una parroquia deberíamos hacer lo mismo. Cuando damos la bienvenida a las personas a nuestra comunidad con amor, les mostramos el rostro de Jesús. Es fácil juzgar y encontrar razones para decir que no. Si vemos a la persona como Jesús en los demás, entonces nos vemos obligados a decir que sí. Estamos obligados a darles la bienvenida. Cada domingo, cuando veamos un visitante, una cara nueva o una nueva familia, ¿serás tú quien se acerque a ellos y les diga: "Bienvenidos a la Parroquia de San José"

The love that we celebrate in the Eucharist is not something we can keep to ourselves. By its very nature it demands to be shared with all. What the world needs is God's love; it needs to encounter Christ and to believe in him. The Eucharist is thus the source and summit not only of the Church's life, but also of her mission: "an authentically eucharistic Church is a missionary Church." (234) We too must be able to tell our brothers and sisters with conviction: "That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us" (1 Jn 1:3). Truly, nothing is more beautiful than to know Christ and to make him known to others. The institution of the Eucharist, for that matter, anticipates the very heart of Jesus' mission: he is the one sent by the Father for the redemption of the world (cf. Jn 3:16-17; Rom8:32). At the Last Supper, Jesus entrusts to his disciples the sacrament which makes present his self-sacrifice for the salvation of us all, in obedience to the Father's will. We cannot approach the eucharistic table without being drawn into the mission which, beginning in the very heart of God, is meant to reach all people. Missionary outreach is thus an essential part of the eucharistic form of the Christian life.

La Eucaristía y Misión Por el Papa Benedicto XVI

 El amor que celebramos en la Eucaristía no es algo que podamos guardar para nosotros mismos. Por su propia naturaleza exige ser compartido con todos. Lo que el mundo necesita es el amor de Dios; necesita encontrar a Cristo y creer en él. La Eucaristía es, pues, fuente y cumbre no sólo de la vida de la Iglesia, sino también de su misión: "una Iglesia auténticamente eucarística es una Iglesia misionera". (234) También nosotros debemos poder decir con convicción a nuestros hermanos y hermanas: "Lo que hemos visto y oído, os lo anunciamos también a vosotros, para que tengáis comunión con nosotros" (1 Jn 1,3). En verdad, nada es más hermoso que conocer a Cristo y darlo a conocer a los demás. La institución de la Eucaristía, por lo demás, anticipa el corazón mismo de la misión de Jesús: él es el enviado del Padre para la redención del mundo (cf. Jn 3, 16-17; Rom 8, 32). I want to thank all who were involved in the planning and success of our Citywide Eucharistic Procession. We had a wonderful gathering of faithful from around Norman and the surrounding areas. Thank you to Archbishop Coakley for his presence with us as our shepherd. May God bring many blessings to our community of Norman, Oklahoma.

Jesus is Here! Praise God. Jesus is Real! This we believe. Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist! We need to proclaim this truth the world. The invitation of the Lord to Come to Him in the Eucharist, to eat His Flesh and Drink His Blood, to receive this Divine Sacrament so that we can live forever with God, it is for everyone. Invite people to Mass. Invite a friend to our adoration chapel. Come and Pray! Come and Adore! Come and Receive Jesus who loves you!

La presencia real de Jesús

 Quiero agradecer a todos los que participaron en la planificación y el éxito de nuestra Procesión Eucarística en toda la ciudad. Tuvimos una reunión maravillosa de fieles de Norman y sus alrededores. Gracias al Arzobispo Coakley por su presencia con nosotros como nuestro pastor. Que Dios traiga muchas bendiciones a nuestra comunidad de Norman, Oklahoma.

¡Jesús está aquí! Alabado sea el Señor. ¡Jesús es real! Esto lo creemos. ¡Jesús está verdaderamente presente en la Eucaristía! Necesitamos proclamar esta verdad al mundo. La invitación del Señor a venir a Él en la Eucaristía, a comer Su Carne y beber Su Sangre, a recibir este Divino Sacramento para que podamos vivir para siempre con Dios, es para todos. In todays culture, we are more amazed at ourselves rather than being amazed by the beauty and power of God.  Each day, God makes himself truly present on the altars of the world in the Eucharist, but we are not interested.  We prefer the glow of a livestream movie or to take yet another picture of ourselves and show it a follower. 

Jesus comes to us as our food. In the Eucharist, He makes himself fully vulnerable and ready to encounter.  How can we stand by uninterested?  What will help us to look again with amazement at the great gift of the Eucharist?  In the consecrated host, the entire history of salvation is present.  In the host, the whole of the Paschal Mystery is revealed.  In this small, seemingly insignificant host, all of God comes to us to transform hearts, minds, souls, to convert culture, destroy hatred, expel evil and guard us against anything that is not of God.  Jesus comes in this form so that the world can know and believe in what He said to His Apostles, "I am with you always, until the end of the age". 

We kneel in thanksgiving and amazement at the enternal love of Jesus in the Eucharist.

Asombro Eucarístico

En la cultura actual, estamos más asombrados con nosotros mismos que con la belleza y el poder de Dios. Cada día, Dios se hace verdaderamente presente en los altares del mundo en la Eucaristía, pero a nosotros no nos interesa. Preferimos el brillo de una película en vivo o tomar otra foto de nosotros mismos y mostrársela a un seguidor.

Jesús viene a nosotros como nuestro alimento. En la Eucaristía, se hace plenamente vulnerable y dispuesto al encuentro. ¿Cómo podemos quedarnos desinteresados? ¿Qué nos ayudará a mirar de nuevo con asombro el gran don de la Eucaristía? En la hostia consagrada está presente toda la historia de la salvación. En la hostia se revela todo el misterio pascual. En esta pequeña hostia aparentemente insignificante, todo Dios viene a nosotros para transformar corazones, mentes, almas, convertir la cultura, destruir el odio, expulsar el mal y protegernos de todo lo que no es de Dios. Jesús viene en esta forma para que el mundo sepa y crea en lo que dijo a sus Apóstoles: "Yo estaré con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin de los tiempos".

Nos arrodillamos en acción de gracias y asombro ante el interno amor de Jesús en la Eucaristía.

This time of year, all our children are beginning school, which means, we are beginning a new time of Family Faith Formation and Youth Discipleship.  Two years ago, with the direction of the Archdiocese, we began focusing our Formation in the faith toward the family.  The home is the first and most important place for learning our faith, for learning to pray and for learning the importance of our Catholic traditions.  I want to Strongly Encourage all our parents to attend Family Faith Formation Nights at St. Joseph.  You will learn the faith and receive wonderful information on how live the faith with your children every day. 

Also, bring your 6th through 12th grade children to Youth Nights!  We will help the children to know Jesus Christ and the importance of being a Disciple of the Lord.  We have fun, learn about the faith, and have opportunities for fellowship.  Your children don’t want to miss these amazing Youth Nights at St. Joseph parish.

Welcome Back to School!  Welcome to Family Faith Formation!  Welcome to Youth Discipleship!  Jesus, we trust in you!

 En esta época del año, todos nuestros niños están comenzando la escuela, lo que significa que estamos comenzando un nuevo tiempo de Formación de Familia en la Fe y Discipulado Juvenil. Hace dos años, con la dirección de la Arquidiócesis, empezamos a enfocar nuestra Formación en la fe hacia la familia. El hogar es el lugar primero y más importante para aprender nuestra fe, para aprender a orar y para aprender la importancia de nuestras tradiciones católicas. Quiero animar fuertemente a todos nuestros padres a asistir a las Noches de Formación de Familia en la Fe en San José. On August 15th each year we gather for the Holy Mass to celebrate the Assumption of Mary into heaven, body and soul.  At the end of her earthly life, after living in full faith and trust in mission God gave for her to be Mother of Jesus and Mother of the Church, Mary was assumed into heaven.  She now sits with God interceding with Her prayers.  Mary’s total yes and total commitment to Jesus is a perfect model of faith for the world. 

I want to encourage you to make devotion to Mary an important part of your life.  Pray the Rosary!  Pray it daily, often, for the salvation of souls and the good of the world. 

This is a Holy Day of Obligation in the Church.  I invite you to come to mass at the schedule times on Tuesday, August 15th.

Solemnidad de la Asunción de la Santísima Virgen María

 El 15 de agosto de cada año nos reunimos en la Santa Misa para celebrar la Asunción de María al cielo, en cuerpo y alma. Al final de su vida terrena, después de vivir en plena fe y confianza en la misión que Dios le encomendó para ser Madre de Jesús y Madre de la Iglesia, María fue asunta al cielo. Ella ahora se sienta con Dios intercediendo con Sus oraciones. El sí total de María y su entrega total a Jesús es un modelo perfecto de fe para el mundo.

Quiero animarte a que hagas de la devoción a María una parte importante de tu vida. ¡Reza el Rosario! Rézalo diariamente, a menudo, por la salvación de las almas y el bien del mundo.

Este es un Día Santo de Obligación en la Iglesia. Los invito a venir a misa en los horarios establecidos el martes 15 de agosto.

I want to say thank you this week for your amazing support of St. Joseph Parish.  This last year there has been a significant increase in Sunday Collections.  The Sunday giving to the parish, and your prayerful and financial support of our ministries, programs and all the work we do to Glorify God and Proclaim the Gospel, has been a gift.  Thank you! 

I ask you today to consider an increase in your Sunday Offering.  Can you increase your giving by 20 to 30 dollars a month?  There are so many who give generously.  There are also many who give nothing to the parish.  Why do we make an offering to God and to our parish?  Because we trust in the Lord Jesus.  When you make an offering, it is an act of trust.  When we give, we say to Jesus; I know you will take care of me, my family and my Church.  Please Give to The Mission of St. Joseph Parish.  What is the mission?  It is the mission of the whole Archdiocese, To Make Disciples of the World.  When you contribute to the collection each week and month, you invest in the Mission of the Church.  Invest!  Contribute!  Trust in Jesus!  Be part of the Mission of Jesus for the world. La ofrenda dominical a la parroquia, y su apoyo financiero y en oración a nuestros ministerios, programas y todo el trabajo que hacemos para glorificar a Dios y proclamar el evangelio, ha sido un regalo. ¡Gracias!

Les pido hoy que consideren un aumento en su ofrenda dominical. ¿Puedes aumentar tus donaciones de 20 a 30 dólares al mes? Hay tantos que dan generosamente. También hay muchos que no dan nada a la parroquia. ¿Por qué hacemos una ofrenda a Dios y a nuestra parroquia? Porque confiamos en el Señor Jesús. Cuando haces una ofrenda, es un acto de confianza. These last weeks I have offered some basic teachings on the Eucharist and the Holy Mass.  Let’s continue to reflect on the truth of our Eucharistic Faith. By his Real Presence in the Eucharist Christ fulfils his promise to be with us "always, until the end of the age" (Mt 28:20). As St. Thomas Aquinas wrote, "It is the law of friendship that friends should live together... Christ has not left us without his bodily presence in this our pilgrimage, but he joins us to himself in this sacrament in the reality of his body and blood" (Summa Theologiae, III q. 75, a. 1). With this gift of Christ's presence in our midst, the Church is truly blessed. As Jesus told his disciples, referring to his presence among them, "Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it" (Mt 13:17). In the Eucharist the Church both receives the gift of Jesus Christ and gives grateful thanks to God for such a blessing. This thanksgiving is the only proper response, for through this gift of himself in the celebration of the Eucharist under the appearances of bread and wine Christ gives us the gift of eternal life.

Comprensión Eucarística y Alegría

 Estas últimas semanas he ofrecido algunas enseñanzas básicas sobre la Eucaristía y la Santa Misa. Sigamos reflexionando sobre la verdad de nuestra Fe Eucarística. Por su Presencia Real en la Eucaristía, Cristo cumple su promesa de estar con nosotros "siempre, hasta el fin de los tiempos" (Mt 28,20). Como escribió Santo Tomás de Aquino: "Es ley de la amistad que los amigos vivan juntos... Cristo no nos ha dejado sin su presencia corporal en esta nuestra peregrinación, sino que nos une a sí mismo en este sacramento en la realidad de su cuerpo y de su sangre" (Summa Theologiae, III q. 75, a. 1). Con este don de la presencia de Cristo entre nosotros, la Iglesia es verdaderamente bendecida. Como dijo Jesús a sus discípulos, refiriéndose a su presencia entre ellos: "Os aseguro que muchos profetas y justos quisieron ver lo que veis, pero no vieron, y oír lo que oís, pero no oyeron" (Mt 13, 17). En la Eucaristía, la Iglesia recibe el don de Jesucristo y da gracias a Dios por tal bendición. Esta acción de gracias es la única respuesta adecuada, porque por este don de sí mismo en la celebración de la Eucaristía bajo las apariencias del pan y del vino, Cristo nos da el don de la vida eterna.

The Liturgy of the Eucharist begins with the preparation of the gifts and the altar. As the ministers prepare the altar, representatives of the people bring forward the bread and wine that will become the Body and Blood of Christ. The celebrant blesses and praises God for these gifts and places them on the altar, the place of the Eucharistic sacrifice. In addition to the bread and wine, monetary gifts for the support of the Church and the care of the poor may be brought forward.

The Prayer over the Offerings concludes this preparation and disposes all for the Eucharistic Prayer.  The Eucharistic prayer is the heart of the Holy Mass and is proclaimed only by the priest.  Christ’s words at the last supper are proclaimed and from this prayer, the miracle of the Eucharistic species comes to us. 

We are invited to receive Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist now on the altar.

La Liturgia de la Eucaristía

 La Liturgia de la Eucaristía comienza con la preparación de las ofrendas y el altar. Mientras los ministros preparan el altar, los representantes del pueblo presentan el pan y el vino que se convertirán en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo. El celebrante bendice y alaba a Dios por estos dones y los coloca sobre el altar, lugar del sacrificio eucarístico. Además del pan y el vino, se pueden presentar donaciones monetarias para el sostenimiento de la Iglesia y el cuidado de los pobres.

La Oración sobre las Ofrendas concluye esta preparación y dispone todo para la Plegaria Eucarística. La Plegaria Eucarística es el corazón de la Santa Misa y es proclamada únicamente por el sacerdote. The Lord Jesus, on the night before he suffered on the cross, shared one last meal with his disciples. During this meal our Savior instituted the sacrament of his Body and Blood. He did this in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the Cross throughout the ages and to entrust to the Church a memorial of his death and resurrection. The Institution of the Eucharist is written down in the four Gospels below:

• Matthew 26:26-30
• Mark 14:22-26
• Luke 22:14-20
• John 6:22-59 (The Bread of Life Discourse)

Why does Jesus give himself to us as food and drink?

Jesus gives himself to us in the Eucharist as spiritual nourishment because he loves us. By eating the Body and drinking the Blood of Christ in the Eucharist, we become united to the person of Christ through his humanity. "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him" (Jn 6:56). In being united to the humanity of Christ, we are at the same time united to his divinity. Our mortal and corruptible natures are transformed by being joined to the source of life.

La Eucaristía en la Biblia

 El Señor Jesús, la noche antes de sufrir en la cruz, compartió una última comida con sus discípulos. Durante esta comida nuestro Salvador instituyó el sacramento de su Cuerpo y Sangre. Lo hizo para perpetuar el sacrificio de la Cruz a lo largo de los siglos y confiar a la Iglesia un memorial de su muerte y resurrección. La Institución de la Eucaristía está escrita en los cuatro Evangelios siguientes:

¿Por qué Jesús se entrega a nosotros como comida y bebida?

Jesús se da a nosotros en la Eucaristía como alimento espiritual porque nos ama. Al comer el Cuerpo y beber la Sangre de Cristo en la Eucaristía, nos unimos a la persona de Cristo a través de su humanidad. “El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre permanece en mí y yo en él” (Jn 6,56). Al estar unidos a la humanidad de Cristo, estamos al mismo tiempo unidos a su divinidad. Nuestras naturalezas mortales y corruptibles se transforman al unirse a la fuente de la vida.

The National Eucharistic Revival is centered around Encounter.  Encounter with Jesus in the Holy Mass and on going encounter with the Lord in Adoration.  All of our work in the Church should be centered, and find its source of grace, in the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. 

Why do we want to encounter Jesus in this way?  Because He proclaimed to us in the Gospels, “eat my flesh and drink my blood and you will have life.  If you eat and drink, I will remain with you and you with me”.  Jesus knows us, loves us and calls us to trust Him.  When we encounter Jesus in the Eucharist, we experience a strengthening of confidence that tells us, God is always with me and I do not need to fear.  I have no need to fear the world, sin, the evil one or anything that would separate us from the love of God.  Fear turns into Joy when we know Jesus in the Eucharist. 

Come to Mass!  Come to Jesus in the Adoration!  Your life will be transformed.

Reavivamiento Eucarístico: En Camino al Encuentro con Jesús

El Avivamiento Eucarístico Nacional se centra en Encuentro. Encuentro con Jesús en la Santa Misa y encuentro continuo con el Señor en Adoración. Todo nuestro trabajo en la Iglesia debe estar centrada y encontrar su fuente de gracia en el Corazón Eucarístico de Jesús.

¿Por qué queremos encontrar a Jesús de esta manera? Porque Él nos proclamó en los Evangelios, “comed mi carne y bebed mi sangre y tendréis vida. Si comes y bebes, yo estaré contigo y tú conmigo”. Jesús nos conoce, nos ama y nos llama a confiar en Él. Cuando nos encontramos con Jesús en la Eucaristía, experimentamos un fortalecimiento de la confianza que nos dice, Dios está siempre conmigo y no debo temer. No tengo por qué temer al mundo, al pecado, al maligno ni a nada que nos separe del amor de Dios. El miedo se convierte en Alegría cuando conocemos a Jesús en la Eucaristía.

¡Ven a misa! ¡Venid a Jesús en la Adoración! Tu vida será transformada.

As we celebrate Independence Day this week, we also welcome Fr. Lawrence Damian as our new Parochial Vicar.  Fr. Lawrence will be assisting me at St. Joseph Parish with all our pastoral duties.  Fr. Lawrence is from Nellore, India.  He has been in Oklahoma the last four years serving at St. Benedict parish in Shawnee.  Fr. Lawrence is excited to begin his pastoral work at St. Joseph Parish in Norman and I know we will welcome him with great joy and enthusiasm. 

We also welcome Mr. Rendon Chambers, a seminarian for the Archdiocese.  Rendon will be with us just a few weeks in July to have a short pastoral ministry experience.  It will be good to have him with us, helping our altar servers and learning more about work as a priest.  Rendon, we welcome you and we pray that God blesses your ongoing formation for the priesthood.

Mientras celebramos el Día de la Independencia esta semana, también damos la bienvenida al Padre Lawrence Damian como nuestro nuevo Vicario Parroquial. Padre Lawrence me asistirá en la Parroquia de San José con todos nuestros deberes pastorales. Padre Lawrence es de Nellore, India. Ha estado en Oklahoma los últimos cuatro años sirviendo en la parroquia de St. Benedict en Shawnee. Padre Lawrence está emocionado de comenzar su trabajo pastoral en la Parroquia de San José en Norman y sé que lo recibiremos con gran alegría y entusiasmo.

También damos la bienvenida al Sr. Rendon Chambers, un seminarista de la Arquidiócesis. Prayers for our Youth 

This weekend over 40 of our teenage youth are traveling to Dallas for the Annual Steubenville Youth Conference.  This weekend is full of prayer, adoration, confessions, great speakers, fun activities and the opportunity to encounter Jesus. 

Many of our youth have life changing experiences during these times of adoration and praise.  Pray for them.  Pray that they open their hearts to receive the power and love of Jesus. 

Thank you to everyone that helped support our youth prayerfully and financially to attend this conference.  The support of our parish family is a great gift.

Este fin de semana, más de 40 de nuestros jóvenes adolescentes viajarán a Dallas para la Conferencia Anual de Jóvenes de Steubenville. Este fin de semana está lleno de oración, adoración, confesiones, grandes oradores, actividades divertidas y la oportunidad de encontrar a Jesús.

Muchos de nuestros jóvenes tienen experiencias que les cambian la vida durante estos tiempos de adoración y alabanza. Reza por ellos. Ore para que abran sus corazones para recibir el poder y el amor de Jesús.

Gracias a todos los que ayudaron a apoyar a nuestros jóvenes en oración y financieramente para asistir a esta conferencia. El apoyo de nuestra familia parroquial es un gran regalo.

Every June we celebrate the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  The Friday after Corpus Christi Sunday is always the day we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart. 

It is a beautiful time in the Liturgical year where we point all prayers, adoration and celebrations toward Jesus and His Sacred and Eucharistic Heart.  It is the Sacred Heart of Jesus that pours out eternally His Mercy, Grace and Love.  When we turn to the Sacred Heart, we offer this prayer; Jesus, Have Mercy On Us.  We pray this month that Jesus will always guide us toward His merciful Heart and fill us with His Love.

To all Fathers this weekend, Happy Father’s Day.  Thank you for being witnesses of faith, hope and love to us, your sons and daughters.  May you be blessed today and always.

Mes del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús

Cada junio celebramos el mes dedicado al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. El viernes después del domingo de Corpus Christi es siempre el día en que celebramos la Fiesta del Sagrado Corazón.

Es un tiempo hermoso en el año litúrgico donde dirigimos todas las oraciones, adoración y celebraciones hacia Jesús y Su Sagrado y Eucarístico Corazón. Es el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús que derrama eternamente Su Misericordia, Gracia y Amor. Cuando nos dirigimos al Sagrado Corazón, ofrecemos esta oración; Jesús, ten piedad de nosotros. Oramos este mes para que Jesús siempre nos guíe hacia Su Corazón misericordioso y nos llene de Su Amor.

A todos los Padres este fin de semana, Feliz Día del Padre. Gracias por ser testigos de fe, esperanza y amor para nosotros, sus hijos e hijas. Que seas bendecido hoy y siempre.

What is the Church's teaching on the Eucharist? 

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. The term “Eucharist” originates from the Greek word eucharistia, meaning thanksgiving.  In the celebration of the Eucharist, bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the instrumentality of the priest. The whole Christ is truly present -- body, blood, soul, and divinity -- under the appearances of bread and wine, the glorified Christ who rose from the dead. This is what the Church means when she speaks of the "Real Presence" of Christ in the Eucharist.

This weekend we celebrate Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Eucharist, the Lord's true presence.  The church invites us to renew our love and devotion for the Eucharist, the celebration of the mass, adoration of the blessed sacrament and proclaiming the truth of our Eucharistic faith to others.  Renew your commitment to coming to mass on Sundays to celebrate this amazing gift of the Lord's Body and Blood in the Eucharist.

Avivamiento Eucarístico

¿Cuál es la enseñanza de la Iglesia sobre la Eucaristía?

La Eucaristía es la fuente y cumbre de la vida cristiana. El término Eucaristía proviene de la palabra griega eucharistia, que significa acción de gracias. En la celebración de la Eucaristía, el pan y el vino se convierten en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Jesucristo por el poder del Espíritu Santo y la instrumentación del sacerdote. Cristo entero está verdaderamente presente: cuerpo, sangre, alma y divinidad, bajo las apariencias del pan y del vino, el Cristo glorificado que resucitó de entre los muertos. Esto es lo que quiere decir la Iglesia cuando habla de la "Presencia Real" de Cristo en la Eucaristía.

Este fin de semana celebramos el Corpus Christi, la Solemnidad de la Eucaristía, la verdadera presencia del Señor. La iglesia nos invita a renovar nuestro amor y devoción por la Eucaristía, la celebración de la misa, la adoración del santísimo sacramento y proclamar a los demás la verdad de nuestra fe eucarística. Renueve su compromiso de asistir a misa los domingos para celebrar este maravilloso don del Cuerpo y la Sangre del Señor en la Eucaristía.

God has revealed himself to us as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  This Sunday we celebrate the beauty of God as a Trinity of Love, pouring out Grace and Mercy upon the world. 

For us as Christians and Catholics, God is a family of persons who sanctity's our lives, forgives our sins, strengthens our desire to serve Him and shows us the true path to heaven.  Be Disciples who show the same kind of Love.  Be not afraid to live your life for God. We pray this, in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Fr. Irwin

Dios se nos ha revelado como el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo. Este domingo celebramos la belleza de Dios como Trinidad de Amor, derramando Gracia y Misericordia sobre el mundo.

Para nosotros como cristianos y católicos, Dios es una familia de personas que santifica nuestra vida, perdona nuestros pecados, fortalece nuestro deseo de servirle y nos muestra el verdadero camino al cielo. Come Holy Spirit

Today the Church is born.  The Holy Spirit comes down upon the Apostles and gives them the power and authority to heal, sanctify and govern our Church.  Today we call upon the Holy Spirit asking for guidance and inspiration.  Come Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with your love.  Come and set our hearts, minds and souls on fire for Jesus.  May we always know God's will for our lives.  Fr. Hoy nace la Iglesia. El Espíritu Santo desciende sobre los Apóstoles y les da poder y autoridad para sanar, santificar y gobernar nuestra Iglesia. Hoy invocamos al Espíritu Santo pidiendo guía e inspiración. Ven Espíritu Santo, llena nuestros corazones con tu amor. Ven y enciende nuestros corazones, mentes y almas en llamas por Jesús. We celebrate today the Ascension of Jesus into heaven.  As he ascended, Jesus told the world He would be with us until the end of time.  Jesus, who pleads for us to the Heavenly Father, always offers mercy and peace. 

Stay close to Jesus in your life.  Stay close to Mary who loves you.  Stay close to St. Joseph who prays for you.  Jesus calls us to be His disciples who go out and proclaim the truth of the Gospel. Say yes when Jesus asks you, Follow Me.

Solemnidad de la Ascensión

Celebramos hoy la Ascensión de Jesús al cielo. Mientras ascendía, Jesús le dijo al mundo que estaría con nosotros hasta el final de los tiempos. Jesús, que ruega por nosotros al Padre Celestial, siempre ofrece misericordia y paz.

Mantente cerca de Jesús en tu vida. Mantente cerca de María que te ama. Mantente cerca de San José que ora por ti. Jesús nos llama a ser sus discípulos que salen y proclaman la verdad del Evangelio. Di sí cuando Jesús te pida, Sígueme.

The month of May is dedicated to our Blessed Mother.  It is fitting that we also honor all Mothers on this Sunday.  Thank you to all Mothers who gave us life, love us and show us the goodness of God.  To all mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, stepmothers, and mothers in law, we thank you for your yes to God and service to the family. 

Today we honor you, thank you and ask God to bless you.  As we pray this weekend, let us turn to our Blessed Mother Mary and ask for her prayers for our mothers, 'Mary, Mother of God, pray for our Mothers and ask God to give them grace, peace and holiness of life'. God bless you all, Fr. Irwin

 Feliz Día de las Madres

El mes de Mayo está dedicado a nuestra Santísima Madre. Es apropiado que también honremos a todas las Madres en este domingo. Gracias a todas las Madres que nos dieron la vida, nos aman y nos muestran la bondad de Dios. A todas las madres, abuelas, madrinas, madrastras y suegras, les agradecemos su dedicación a Dios y servicio a la familia.

Hoy te honramos, agradecemos y le pedimos a Dios que te bendiga. Mientras oramos este fin de semana, dirijámonos a nuestra Santísima Madre María y pidamos sus oraciones por nuestras madres, 'María, Madre de Dios, ora por nuestras Madres y pídele a Dios que les dé gracia, paz y santidad de vida'.
